Corrections
When we get something wrong, we fix it quickly and say so in public. Here is how to tell us, and every correction we have made.
Draft for counsel review — not yet in effect. This is a working draft. Counsel has not reviewed it and CHSA’s board has not adopted it, so it does not yet bind CHSA or anyone else.
Report an error
Email corrections@cannabishealthandsafety.org. Please include:
- The page address (URL)
- What you think is wrong, and what is correct
- A source, if you have one
If you are a business named in a CHSA alert or recall listing, use the same address and put “Named business” in the subject line.
California Civil Code section 48a sets rules for written demands to correct statements in news publications. If you want to send us a demand for correction, or any other legal notice about something we published, email it to the same address with “Correction demand” in the subject line. Say which statements you believe are false and what you want corrected. We review every demand and answer it in writing.
Please don’t send health details about yourself or anyone else.
How fast we act
| Content | We acknowledge within | We correct or remove within |
|---|---|---|
| Safety alerts and recalls | 4 business hours | 24 hours |
| Everything else | — | 5 business days |
If a recall or alert is withdrawn by the regulator, we update or withdraw ours within the same 24 hours.
How corrections appear
- We never quietly change a fact. A dated correction note appears on the page itself.
- The correction is as easy to see as the original error. If the error was in a headline or an alert, so is the correction.
- Every correction is listed in the log below.
- Withdrawn alerts stay in our alert ledger, marked as withdrawn, so the record is complete.
- Typo and formatting fixes that don’t change meaning are not logged.
